All businesses depend on quality leadership. When sports are involved, it’s even more integral to success, because proper leadership affects what happens on the playing field, as well as off. Providing dependable and forward-thinking leadership and guidance is one of my most important responsibilities, because my team, my coaches, assistants, and the faculty look to me for direction.
As the leader of this athletic program I must be able to make intelligent decisions and communicate my needs effectively and clearly. The decisions I make define the future for all of our athletic programs. Everything must be accounted for; from the coaches we hire, to athletic facility management, to scheduling, community events, policy and more. It’s my responsibility and I count on my team to support my decisions and to ensure that everything gets done correctly.
I know I’ve accomplished my goals as a leader when our student athletes succeed and when our teams are put in the best position to win. As a K-12 athletic director I can be proud because of the actions of my administration team, and my leadership, have put us in position to become successful on the playing field, in the classroom, and in our community.
