Engineers are known for creativity and innovation.
So are the universities that train them.

The Russ College of Engineering and Technology was founded on the belief that the engineering profession could improve the human condition. Our purpose as engineers and technologists is to create for good — and we’d like to help you do the same.

We’re proud of the way our students, faculty, and staff work together to make a sustainable mark on the world, and it seems like others appreciate it, too. Ohio University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Russ College’s undergraduate programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Even though graduate programs typically aren’t ABET accredited, we make sure that all of our programs meet the quality standards of the profession and appropriately prepare you for the industry.

Our college of engineering and technology is recognized for the following:

  • Named a “2020 Best College” by The Princeton Review

Impact everything around you.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, science and engineering graduates experience the biggest boost from a master’s degree than any other field. Why? Because society needs highly educated engineers with the specialized skills to work in a variety of industries — and it needs a lot of them.

Engineers are responsible for the design, development, and optimization of nearly everything we interact with on a daily basis. That means without them, we’d lack most of what makes our world livable. Not many professionals can make an impact quite as large as a team of engineers can.

With your online engineering degree, you could do anything from building new bridges, developing electrical distribution systems for refugee camps, to overseeing large-scale manufacturing, scientific research, or government projects. There are positions open in almost every industry for engineers with the right skills to make a difference.

Our graduates are making an impact.

“Being a part of this program made a drastic change in my life. Along with learning a lot, I was able to enhance my communication skills and become more organized. Everything I learned I was able to use in my field, and it has helped me a lot with advancing as an engineer.”

– Kelsey Hearst, graduate

“The online platform allowed me to stay active in my professional career as an engineer while gaining the credentials to support my short- and long-term goals as well. I was able to dictate the pace of the program and implement my own routine from day one through graduation.”

— Amir Aghajani, graduate

It was very important for me to find a well-respected university with a flexible program. Ohio University has a longstanding reputation as an expert in the field of aviation, which made its online electrical engineering program a winner for me. I’m so glad that I entered this program and was able to achieve one of my major goals in life.

— Douglas Lowe, graduate
