Daniel Czech, Ph.D.

Dr. Daniel Czech earned his B.S. in Psychology and Physical Education from Denison University, an M.S. in Exercise Science from Georgia Southern University, and a Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He currently teaches Foundations of Coaching II in the Master’s of Coaching Education program at Ohio University. Dr. Czech is also an associate professor, graduate program director, and sport psychology coordinator in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Georgia Southern University.
Dr. Czech’s research interests include the effects of optimism and pessimism on sport performance, change of health behaviors in college-aged individuals, the cultural and social aspects of sport and exercise, the use of prayer as a mental enrichment, and the use of psychological skills to improve performance. He serves as a mental consultant to many professional athletes in the National Basketball Association, National Football League, and Major League Baseball as well as an ambassador for Major League Baseball International.
